Below you can find factory service manuals for the Kawasaki KX250 and KX250F models from 1992 to 2024.
Kawasaki has produced the KX250 and KX250F motocross class motorcycles since 1974. The original KX250 ended production in 2008 while the KX250F successor began in 2004 and is still manufactured by Kawasaki today.
The original KX250 uses a single cylinder water-cooled 2-stroke engine with a 249 cubic cm / 15.2 cubic inch displacement. Compression ratios for these engines vary from 10.1:1 (KX250-M1) to 10.9:1 (KX250-J) at low speed and 8.6:1 ( KX250-M1) to 9.3:1 (KX250-J) at high speed and produce approximately 54 hp at 8500 rpms and 49 Nm of torque at 7500 rpms. These engines use a Keihin carburetor while the clutch is a wet, multi-plate, cable operated, constant mesh 5-speed with a chain final drive.
The revised KX250F uses a single cylinder water-cooled DOHC 4-valve 4-stroke engine with a 249 cubic cm / 15.2 cubic inch displacement. Compression ratios for these engines vary from 12.6:1 (KX250-N) to 14.2:1 (KX252-B) and produce approximately 43 hp at 11000 rpms and 28.7 Nm of torque at 8500 rpms. These engines use a Keihin carburetor or a fuel injection system (depending on the model year) while the clutch is wet, multi-plate, cable or hyrdraulic operated constant mesh 5-speed with a chain final drive.
