Polaris Ranger Service Manual
Manual download was generally satisfactory, and the cost was acceptable. I actually prefer having manuals like these in an electronic format, rather than a bunch of paper books clogging up my shop. And you can always print off the pages you need for a specific procedure and have that handy while using it, make notes on it, and file it when you are done. HOWEVER...exploded diagrams of mechanical assemblies are too low-resolution to be useful. It is virtually impossible to read the associated part numbers with any confidence, and I tried all the tricks - zooming the view, printing off and then looking through a magnifying glass, etc...to no avail. The detail just isn't there in the scan. Fortunately, the website's online chat feature (which is fairly impressive) allowed me to discuss the problem with "Mike", and he was then able to email me a pdf of the diagram of sufficient resolution. This is fine and a nice to know workaround, but...a service manual with diagrams that you can't read the details on is of dubious value for troubleshooting, figuring out repair strategies, etc - the things you want a manual for in the first place. The next time, when I need a different diagram, will SMWH be willing to email that one also? I urge SMWH to work with their suppliers to get this resolved, so that all downloaded manuals will have usable diagrams.
